Just put Syria in search and got two pages, koni shocks, winches, what have you done to your freelander today,

Whats that got to do with Syria ??
Have I spelt it wrong :rolleyes:

Anyway, I just wanted to know if the money to help the Syrian refugees is what was left over from flood aid in the south west:rolleyes:

Why is the UK taking more of them than any other EU country?

because we have money left over from flood relief, Our leaned prime minister said today that the government would start to work on draining the water away as soon as the floods went down:confused:

Because our government is ####ing soft. Sorry, should I say the UK government. Immigrants don't get far in my country, most of the time they get kicked to the ground at the airport whilst on fire

Like 200k coming with residence status
What bull**** have you been reading? UK net migration is around 200'000 with 500'000 immigrants total from all countries. We are only accepting 500 refugees from Syria.

Err, we aren't. Germany is taking 10'000, Sweden is taking about 3000, Denmark are taking around 1600 and Belgium around 1500. Makes the UK's 500 look a bit paltry.

wheres that figure from?a couple of hundred to appease those that like a gesture as well as the 600 million given in aid already is what i heard

so far..........."This is in the spirit of the UNHCR programme but it is not technically part of it," she added, saying it would provide "greater flexibility".

She said 3,500 Syrian refugee asylum seekers were already in the UK.

What is your source? 3'500? That's still a long way short of the 200'000 you were talking about.

they was discussing a further 200 ish today a number it appears cameron has finally agreed to apparently weve spent more on aid than the rest of europe ,but who knows real facts on numbers ,personally they should provide all the help needed to keep people well in vicinity

Dec 2012 to Dec 2013. Total UK immigration from all countries was approx 500'000. Total emigration from UK was approx 300'000. Net migration was +200'000 people. These ONS figures.

theyve not reached their said target of tens of thousands yet then

what are figures for what time span ?

Are we taking in fewer people because we are the second highest donating country even though we're about 7th on the list of wealthiest countries?
Bit of a balancing act but that's the only reason I can see for taking in fewer refugees.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't, I don't even vote so I've got no room to comment really.

The UK is not participating in the UNHCR programme, but is running it's own scheme. Syrian refugees coming into the UK will not be given residential status, and will be classed as temporary refugees unless they meet the same permanent residency requirements as any other non EU asylum seeker.
