Hi guys

Where can i buy none britpart swivel and bearing kit for the front axle on my 1998 defender??

Genuine?

Actually the BP swivel kit is a very decent piece of kit, some prefer to swop the bearings but I never bothered and have had no issues whatsoever.

As above, I've only just done my swivels, seems a decent kit, swapped the britpart bearings for some timken ones though. I asked for a swivel kit non britpart at the place I ordered them from they basically just said don't bother the britpart kit was as good as any other.

I would recommend you look for teflon coated swivels, they do not get rust spots as easy as the normal swivels, its the rust that damages the seals resulting in leaks, I had mine changed to teflon coated ones several years ago and they are great, still looking new.

Yes it looks that way, I have never looked on ebay for them since I had mine done, when I did there were not many teflon coated ones on there. Just looked now and all teflon.

At the time I was looking for a "kit" I found no one made up a kit in genuine or non-BP parts. I just got the kit list and made up my own kit.

I think it is a Britpart marketing ploy to get busy people just to buy the kit and not have to think about it.
