Just checked my front wheels for play top and bottom, there is a little bit...

don't know if its too much or should there be none at all?

trying to get stuff sorted while I have some time

Re the swivels, there should be no play at all.

Just in case you don't know, the fit of the swivel bearings is adjustable using shims on the top bearing. This means that if there are some shims still in place, you MIGHT be able to reduce the play to an acceptable amount just by removing the shims, otherwise it's new bearings.

If you are going to replace the bearings you would be well-advised to get yourself a full seal kit as well.

Good luck

with big lad.on this, my off side swivel had a bit of play wich i found whilst doing the pre mot checks, reduced the shims by one (still got one left) cured the problem.

Are you sure it's your swivel thats moving and not the wheel bearing? Get someone to press the break pedal and try again. If it's your swivel the movement will still be there if not it's a wheeel bearing.
Not trying to teach you to suck eggs or anything but it's an easy mistake to make.
