How do swivel gaiters come? Do these need to be done when the swivels are stripped down, or can they be put on while built up?

The leather ones will fit with everything built up, apart from the big seal retainer.. but i think the new rubber boot type thingys are one piece jobs. so you would have to strip the hubs to get em over the axle.

Right, its just to put on before the MOT. MOT man can't look under them!

you can get the ones where you cut and glue the retaining ring, thereby being able to do the job without taking the hub off.
ive never done it and im not sure if it last any length of time. but it sounds a bit iffy to me.

Well if lets me get to next summer when I can actully do the swivels that will do.
