Hi all i am a new member and new to Landy ownership.I have a 1985 swb series 3. Took her off roading last weekend very impressed with her until horrible noise started coming from rear diff. On drive home noise got worse then lost all drive,put into 4wd drive and managed to get home. Removed rear Diff and i have totally stripped the pinion. I now in need of new crown/pinion diff rebuild or second hand diff? Also concerned rear axle may need replacing as was a bit of oil coming out back of it seemingly thru the pan itself? maybe hair line crack? Is this common? can i get pan welded? Think pinion stripped due to lack of oil .... have checked front thats ok bit late to check rear now .....

Welcome and sorry to hear that you can weld the diff pan you can get replacement part someone on ere might have a diff introduced yourself on series section good luck
