hi there,i have a disco 2 v8 auto,it has been coverted to coil springs on the rear at some time,never had ace fitted and has anti roll bars,my dilema is i feel the front springs are more worn than the rears and want to replace all four springs and shocks to level the vehicle and give a better ride,it rarely gets used off road so i want it road biased, maybe a 1 inch lift and slightly stiffer ride as its very twisty country roads where i live,so any suggestions as to what,shock/spring combo would be helpful,dont want to spend a fortune as its just a weekend toy,but i think it could drive and handle better

Ok "so i want it road biased" but why do u wish to raise 25mm or even 40mm as suggested?
Nothing wrong with the new D2s I have driven on twisty country roads, that's both models with air or with coil springs, so why not fit genuine standard D2 coil springs that were fitted by LR to the D2 when they left the factory.
Plus a good standard road damper such as Monroe Gas.
 
I've got Old Man Emu coils on mine, along with TerraFirma dampers. Have to say its a much firmer ride than before the upgrade. My front coils are 'light' duty and the rears 'medium'. If you're not going to run with a lot of extra weight then I'd suggest you fit 'light' duty all round - these are slightly firmer than factory standard but still give you a 40mm lift.

One caveat, if you're running with 18in alloys, then the ride may become harsh. I've got 265/75x16s and even with these the ride is definitely on the firm side.

As said I found nothing wrong with the D2s I drove, they didn't roll around but neither did my D1 although it does feed harder but then it's a different setup..
I'm sure u know that to compare the models ride and comfort can only be done when they are new.

im sure i know a few things ,but a disco 2 isnt going to be new

however you want to look at it new or used std springs are too soft for many when it comes to handling ,after all lr had to make compromise to suit most people ,not everyone once firm ride so std are good for them ,op wanted firmer ride and hasnt got ace, and ive only had good reports from those wanting such after fitting those kits

ok ive had a look at this kit,looks good value and i suppose the shockers and springs will be matched,as i was going to try a mix of different type springs and shocks,but as i dont use it much im sure it will be better than the tired original springs and shocks,and i dont put much weight in it so i dont really nead a heavy duty set up
