I prefer superwinch over warn any day of the week.:)

just checked out the price, wow! but they say min want for recovery is 8000lbs, its rather close to that at 8500. would it pull say a defender 90 out of thick mud while in a ditch on its side, with water rushing in through the door :).

hey ratty, why super winch over warn . I thought warn was the bees kneees?

Superwinch are more robust and can easily outpull their rating. I've never managed to stall the winch on my truck yet. It's only an 8000lb winch but I can pull my 7.5 ton truck sideways on tarmac, while it's fully loaded and all the wheels are locked up. The warns we have on the fleet start to bang and crack and then start slipping. I've got 150ft of uprated cable (10mm instead of 8mm) on my winch. I also have an oversized drum. It's 10 1/2" wide instead of the usual 8"-9" drums. :D

given the option i would have a hydraulic superwinch (husky???) over pretty much everything else!
