Just a quick post to hopefully help people having the same problem I had.

My passenger rear door was locked and wouldn't unlock from the key or the remote. After trying the old fashioned hammer approach, child lock, reset, fuses etc to no avail I final got.

Here is what I did:

Removed door card

Removed the two 8mm hex head screws that hold the external handle I place.

Then I noticed a small plastic flap on the side off the lock, looking from the outside off the door where the handle was.

I simply then got a screwdriver and using it as a lever, levered over the silver catch to the left that is situated behind the flap.

Finally pop and she opened, after about 6 months off being permanently locked. Looks like I'll be needing a new lock but least I can remove the old one now.

Must be a thing with rear passenger side doors. The lock/central locking works fine, but often it won't open using the outside handle. Funnily enough though, if you give it a good hard push at the top of the door (maybe other places to) it will then open.
