So another issue with my p38 is the sunroof, it stops part way back, going either way it stops around 2 inches open (slid back not up) and when I use the button to get it to shut where it looks like its closed I get the sunroof open message on the dash???

unless someone say otherwise this is normal - mine goes back apart from last 2 inches or so, push button again and it goes all the way - same in closing.

If i lock the doors on the remote with sunroof open and hold the close button on the fob it will close sunroof (and all windows) without stopping.

I think this is correct....I remember a 7'er BMW of mine doing the same thing...was a sort of ventilation mode...!!

As attached.....

n18rks and Saint, That's how it should work. I think the poster has the same problem as myself. Can't set the sunroof and the dash display tells me it's open even when it is not. When I try to set sunroof it stops part way back and I have to press again to fully open it, same when closing so no set. Also when it gets to the closed position it does not stop and carries on past and tilts up. Same when coming down from tilt, straight past closed position and slides open. I have tried disconnecting the motor drive and manually putting it to the closed position but it makes no difference. Until I come across a solution I have used my Nanocom to tell the BeCM that sunroof is not fitted. At least it's stopped the dash telling me it's bloody open.

Mine doesn't do this, even holding the button for ten seconds makes no difference,
