Yesterday I fitted a kenwood radio plus icelink plus ipod cradle to the 300TDI. It had no radio fitted with the original blanking plate in place. I have been looking for the connector block which has the red and black lead to connect the subwoofer up. The question is, will my 1996 TDi have this block? Or where will I find it? The radio is playing through all speakers, but I am missing the base.

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming your talking about the sub in the rear door, you need to find an in line connector with these 2 wires on, (roughly 7 - 9 pin). It will be found in the same area as the 8 pin din connectors at the back of the radio

I could not find the connector, but believe it to be buried behind the dash. I had a look under the dash after releasing the glove box. I found a red and black cable, and spliced this in, after doing some simple tests. And the result...super. I think it is all operational now. Many thanks for the reply.
