You're not allowed studs in the UK

Might be of use to someone after an offroad set of wheels but yeah illegal in the UK

Studs are illegal in UK for sure, just remove them, then the tyres will be fine.
A lot of military tyres are studable, they normally screw in.

id sell them on ebay
bet you get more for them than a new set of tyres
then you can choose what tyres ya want

Yes indeed, worth a consideration, might drop a hint or two around there is a few around here might well fall for it, you know the type "the great unwashed 4x4 owners" "Look at me I'V been in a puddle"

Studded tyres are legal.....though if you damage the road that may be a problem.

The rapid fit department in the garage I work in had studded tyres last winter.

Another garage I worked in had the studs and a machine for putting them in which I have used :)

Do not take the studs out until your sure....you wont be able to get them back in....studded tyres are twice the price at least of normal winter tyres....sell them with the studs in and buy new normal tyres with the £££

It seems they are ok if used in icy conditions, but not if its dry and good conditions. I guess in the UK its unlikely you'll get perfect conditions for studded tyres for any length of time. Certainly not enough 'good' conditions for sales of new studded tyres!

Studded Tyres are illegal in the UK.

"All road vehicles must conform to the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations
1986 (C&U). Regulation 27 (1)(h) of the C&U states that tyres should not be used on the
road if "the tyre is not maintained in such a condition so as to be fit for the use for which
the vehicle is being put or might in any way cause damage to the surface of the road or
damage persons on or in the vehicle or to other persons using the road."

The difference between using snow chains and studded tyres is that the chains can be easily removed so as not to damage the surface of a non-snow covered road, studs in tyres cannot be removed easily once road conditions dictate that their use is inappropriate.

I agree with what you say about chains and studs but the extract doesn't specifically outlaw studded tyres or chains.

Did ya miss that bit ?? ;) :D :D

If you decide to take the studs out, be prepered for a long hard day doing it, I did a set a few years ago and it killed my hands!!

No no no... I did read it and interpreted it as that studs are ok if the vehicle is being put to use on ICY roads, much the same as you would chains. If its dry get them off as that would be naughty! Like I said not much use for them in the UK...
