I'm trying to remove the red ECU plug to clean out the oil after a harness change, but just can't get it off the ECU.

I can release the latch and it moves a little bit, but after that it won't move any further and springs back to its original position, as if the pins and sockets inside are stuck together - felt if I used any more force it would break. Has anyone else had this problem (and found a solution!)?

It's the suction caused by the oil on the seal ;)

I just persevered - I think I used a large flathead screwdriver as leverage on the edge of the plug.

Love your avatar pic - a proper aeroplane!

Ah, it didn't occur to me that suction might be the problem, thanks for that.

Avatar - Yes, something about Lightnings that other aircraft don't seem to have. And I'm beginning to realise that 'something' is a similar fuel consumption to my D2....
