 While driving clutch went flat to the floor and got stuck pulled it up by hand but then couldn't get it into gear. pumped it a few times to see if the pressure would build up but still flat, could it have an air lock or is it more serious. someone told me that something could have colapsed in the gear box because of the design theres a pin going through it. any ideas thanks

OK what ya driving?? it could be out of fluid. or the actuator rod could have worn thru the clutch selector fork. and gone straight thru it. check your fluid levels 1st. if they are ok then you need to split the gearbox from the engine and slide it back 6" so you can check the selector fork If it is gone get a new fork and before you fit it weld a bit of thicker steel on the back of it and that'll make sure it doesn't do it again.

Cheap fix and easily done yourself if you own a trolley jack. But if you really can't do it yourself any good independant garage will be able to do it for you. DO NOT take it to a mainstealers.

I would not have said it was a side of the road job if it is what red is talking about.

i was told about 400 quid and the clutch might as well be changed at the same time.does that sound about right

Sounds like you need a new garage. even if you change the clutch a good garage should do it in a couple of hours.
