When I bought my p38 4.6 the chap said he had just changed the temp sender for a britpart one. She seemed fine on the way back 100 miles or so. Then changed the coolant, matrix seals vapouriser seals. Topped coolant up every time with 50/50.
Whilst doing these things I noticed the temp dropped off, quick, when hot. This was a loose connection. So took it off cleaned up and closed the gap on the clip to make it tighter on the sender, wire seems fine. Sorted it so I thought connection wise. But for some reason it acts strange.
Heats up and usually stays just at very end of the blue into the black, never goes higher. But sometimes it drops, not to the point where you get no reading, just half way back through the blue, not fast but then returns to the end of the blue.
I thought this could be air, or thermostat sticking open. Any thoughts? Happen to anyone before?
Keep opening the expansion tank and hear a little gargle from the radiator. When pressure is released, not much. Coolant is returning back to the expansion tank through the bleed line from the radiator. Doesn't seem to be over pressurized, can still push in the top hose with force, as you would expect.
I think I should stop worrying and just drive it but this is getting on my nerves, find myself watching the dam thing too much. Somone tell me to stop being cricical.
