Just got Series 3 1972 K reg pick-up. Has a strange lump on the bonnet - top right, circular, about 6 inches across.. Any ideas what it might be? Anything military perhaps?

Can't see the military having any object sticking up to proud to distract the drivers. Could simply be a tyre buffer to prevent damage new tyre sticking.
Heat ducts normally sit to the side. Can't see a winter usage unless temporary duct to keep something warm from the engine bay
