Good idea. So the dummy fob does not have to be registered to the ECU or anything? Why is there a sensor coil around the ignition barrel? I thought it was so the engine would not run without the correct fob being in close proximity? Not doubting you - just asking.The immobiliser is turned off for 30 seconds when you blip your landy to dissarm it.
When using my landy for breakdowns I use a spare key and dummy fob in the ignition and keep the full set of keys and real fob in my pocket. That way if it gets nicked, it won't restart after it's been turned off. I simply blip it with the real fob and then start it straight up with the spare key and dummy fob.![]()

I am enlightened and on the hunt for a spare plipper. Anybody got one they dont want?

The only problem here is that you are relying on them stalling the truck (hope its not an auto!), the police even attending, and them not been able to get it into a garage/lock up asap.
