Since changing to cooper stt's, I've noticed that off road when under heavy articulation, the rear passenger tire especially catches the arch. My old tires which were the same size didn't do this but I suspect the Coopers come up bigger. Would the best thing to sort this just be some taller bump stops for the back axle?

Cheers.

Cut the arches? What travel shocks are you running?
Extended Bump stops would do it but then your limiting your articulation if that's somthin you want to do..?

Dont really want to cut the arches, they are only 31" tyres, big enough but nothing major. Had no problems with the others. Both shocks and springs are only 6 months old, standard 90 springs and standard height Terrafirma shocks. It must just be that these tyres are larger than the old ones given that they are rated 31/10.5/15 each! Although I would be limiting travel with the bump stops surely it wont be much and its better than ripping an arch off with the tyre?

Thanks.

Yeh best try some longer bump stops, I'm really Supprised it's catching the arch on standard shocks as i didn't think you would get that much articulation on standard set up to get the tyres rubbing.

It's quite flexy to be honest, might be down to the polybush perhaps on the arms? I don't know. I will get some longer bump stops then. Shame they are expensive for a little rubber block. Do you know anywhere that sells them for a good price? Cheers.

Yeh I know what ya mean!!
They do spacers for bump stops not sure if they work out cheaper?

You've got spacers fitted haven't you?

Im on 33" STT's and i have no bump stops, and nothing catches.

No spacers on mine. To be fair when I was doing it I was taking on a very uneven obstacle but that's not the point I guess, it shouldn't touch. I will have a look at bump stop spacers. Didn't know they existed, might be cheaper. My suspension sits lower on the left, which is probably one of the reasons why, though I understand that is the norm.

Just had a better look found some from Flatdog UK for a better price and they look better quality than the ones on ebay. Spacers for them were a bit expensive for what they are. Will get some of the Flatdog ones over the weekend. But first, I will check that it actually has bump stops on the back in the first place :D

Hehee
While ya there you want to lift it and put on some long travel shocks with jointed arms and beat everything at the twist off ramp ;)

Something is wrong somewhere. :(

I have the same setup as you with no bump stops(well not extended anyway) and I've never caught an arch.

I have +5.5 shocks and I'm nowhere near to topping/bottoming out a shock either.

Yeh that's what I mentioned I'm Supprised a standard shocks and trailing arms etc are letting it articulate that much for it to rub a dub dub..?

I can try and find the video file of where I was off road and it caught. Hopefully you will be able to tell from that. The obstacle was beyond the limits of my vehicle without lockers / extreme suspension. Just gave it a go hehe. I will try and find it soon.

I watched the vid you put up mate. I doubt putting longer bump stops will stop that. The axle doesn't move much already, think it's just the tyres on standard hight..
