Does it only happen when the warm air is on? It is likely to be a very small leak of coolant or (more likely) some coolant that escaped the system during the installation of the new matrix that is coming into the cabin as it dries up.
Try running the heater fans on full and hot with the windows open for a while and continue to check your collant level very carefully.

Cheers Rog, cleaned all of the coolant away after matrix was fitted and nothin new has appeared. Happens mainly when fan is on but not just on hot. Ran it fer ages on hot with windows open but think yer right gonna have ta giv it anouver go...
Gona give it anouver month before I go back ta fitters - if me eyes dont fall out!

Your eyes should be fine in a while. Its normal when owning a freelander to suffer from stinging eyes as this is a side affect of being stung up the ass by dealers raping you as things go wrong wiv your car.
