Dismantling my 110 i found the capping strips between the tub and the side panels were bonded with strong sticky tape prior to rivetting. Was this as a water barrier or to prevent disimilar metal reaction? Why was this done...? Enormously strong tape. Does it need replacing as I add new cappings?

Sound / vibration deadening I'd say. Doesn't take much to make a difference

Waterproofing (where's that LMFAO smiley...??!!) and electrolysis prevention I'd say - I'd replace like for like meself... Good luck, A
