Really annoying this one and wondered if any one might know a quick fix. Throttle pedal is very slight sticky. It works fine and does not get stuck down. It just has resistance so you can't tickle it gently. You push it a bit too gently increase speed but it won't move. Push a bit harder until it gives and then goes down further than you want and every one in the car then gets jerked about a bit. I've sprayed the top of the pedal with jungle juice (WD40) But no different. The problem does seem to be worse in hot weather. What do you guys think??

Not really, Brian... the last sticky throttle cable I had was on a Tiger 100 and some time ago.

Anyway currymunster only three things to look at, the pedal pivot, the throttle part what ever u have under the bonnet, I assume u have a diesel, and lastly the cable in between.

If... it’s the cable that’s sticking then a bit of lubrication may help so disconnect the cable under the bonnet and slowly pour some light oil, not WD, into the cable end until it appears at the footwell end, it’s not unknown for the cable replacement being required.
If not the cable, then the the throttle part or what ever u have under the bonnet may be worn, so your investigation there is required maybe.

It’s all just logical stuff, better get going as your in trouble as it’s going to be very hot in Kent for a couple of weeks according to the BBC

Thanking you very much. I have looked at the linkage on the injection pump and it seems okay, and yes, you are right is a diesel (300TDi)1995 I'm guessing it's the cable but won't rule out the other two. I'll do the oil thing first. I've got 3 in 1 or 10w40 which one or shall I buy something else? Cheers.
