yeah, i've replaced the sat nav as I mentioned, so the head unit might be it! if I could get one for say £300 - and it works then that sounds ok to me. I'm near York.

cheers, i'll have a look at it...........mines a 2004 '04' vogue - are they easy enough to change? i'm fairly confident at doing most jobs. Failing this is there anything else it could be?..........is there any chance the new DSP I bought might be at fault, not giving out the volume?

I bought the new sat nav and DSP for just shy of £1200! with me having to fit them. I didn't want to risk buying a lemon on ebay! ........thing is i've thrown quite a lot of money at this problem now - all I want is a radio!! - next job, curing the water leak!

haha you got to love a range rover.
well i think its worth a chance buying one on ebay. if its not the problem just flog it back on ebay after.
very easy to get to headunit once you have done it before.
front dash left and right vents come out, take of both side plastic panels on the end of the dash, undo various screws including the ones under the dash speaker grille and the dash just slides out revealing the sat nav unit that just clicks in place.
if you was closer i would offer to give you a hand with it.

sadly no !
don't work with the vogue and its complex fibre optic DSP system. i dont even think someone has managed to retro fit one.
however i have the exact same unit in my HSE and its absolutely FAB ! lol
just plugged straight in ! and now i have freeview TV, Iphone connection, bluetooth hands free, SD player, USB player, CD player including my factory cd changer, Radio, DVD player and reverse camera all in one neat unit !
slightly happy i didnt get a vogue

Thanks for letting me know how good yours is! Shame mine is over complicated! - Thanks for all your advice, i'll try and get a head unit sorted and see how it goes. I'll keep you posted, as i'll probably be back for more advice!
