parked up was excellent...next moring realllly stiff, didnt want to center too!harder to turn left than right.

so why...?

power steering pump??no, dont think so, cos its same on electric and engine drived pumps...also hydroboost braking is spot on...

hydoboost braking gone iffy, not routing power steering pump pressure back to steering box??dont think so..as engine/electric pump not under any more load,..

steering colum uj's?...look fine..and why overnight go wrong??and if faulty would have though stiff both ways...

ball joints....as above really..

front lsd??tires not squeeling on cournering..so dought lsd..

SO steering box, has to be i thinks..???but why go faulty over night????

I would say change the fluid just because it possibly hasn't been done in ages. Could have been some sort of sticky valve in the box?

lucas ****e is good..used before...but oil is quite new...however cheap...so will change as it does av a hard life ,what doing power steering and brake servo..thinks i might install cooler too, though obviosly that aint the problem (as better, (when playing up) when cold)

nope..fluid in resovoir is non airiated..(spelt that wrong, but you know what i mean)

I had similar problem on my D2 and it was Stiff UJ on the steering column sprayed it a few times with WD40 and worked it loose left it overnight literally soaked in the stuff and by the time i drove 2 miles to work steering as good as new. Worth a look :)
