found on net that i needed 430 ml of oil so i emptied the old oil out which was around the 400 ml mark and filled with fresh oil....it came to the top of the filler plug is this correct
 
it shoulds be to the bottom of the plug hole but ah dint suspose to the top of it will affect it much. yer really shouldn't have to top it up unless yer got a leak or you have rebuild it it

cheers slob.....just was easy to do when wings were off thats all....just got the old girls so replacing all the oil....noticed they is a drip from the middle drum :confused:..sorry not sure whats it called
 
middle drum yer say? would that be yer hand brake? if so yer t/box out put seal is fooked
 
ah dunno but me detector has started flashing yellow which is only one step down from red.
 
was told its only a seal thats gone and easy to do....will go round all nipples and grease them and replace all oil as we have a big drum at work and is free:D...then when i finish painting her its off to my friend who is a mechanic to fettle her,,,,,
 
be carful with yer big drum of oil, make sure yer g/box and t/box get gl4 and NOT gl5.
yer diffs are ok with gl5 but not yer boxes
 
gl5 has an additive wot like to eat away at the phosphor bronze inards of yer gearbox
