I'm going to change the steering box on my disco , never done this before , anyone got any tips before i start , anything i should be aware of , any "tricks of the trade " that might help

They are heavy, much heavier than they look. Check ujs are nice and free with no tight spots. Careful putting the pipes back into the box, easy to cross thread.
This is for Defender, Disco is the same though.
Did I say its heavy?
 
Disco 1/2 ???

Mines is a TD5. Can be done without removing too much. I had to loosen AC pipes that run along front cross member to give room to drop the box. Jack up and support on the chassis to remove the belly pan. Hit around where the drop arm fits to the splines on the output shaft with a dumpy hammer a few times. This helps free it off. Quite straight forward though but a bit awkward.
