Hi folks once again I'm back with another small problem this time,when my wheels are straight the 4x4i shows them to be off to the right what could it be??

1/ take wheels off
2/ stand said vehicle of axel stands
3/ problem sorted

Steering angle sensor fecked maybe. Try going full lock left and then full lock right to see if it re-sets it.

Otherwise it's diagnostics.

I tryed the left to right lock but no joy, if it is the steering angel sensor is that a big job to do??

Depends on how handy you are with the spanners....

Process is basically , drivers dash panels out, undo the steering column, wihdraw from car....

Thoughts - SAS problems usualy give a ABS/HDC/EAS/CANBus error ..... atleast on the 2003 model it does - yours being a later model with on board display thingy with the MOST data system may be different.....as the ABS/HDC et al talk on different databuses I believe

Not something simple as the steering wheel not being straight when the tracking was last done?

Set the steering wheel straight ahead and have a look under the vehicle to see if the track rod ends look pretty much the same length

The wheels are straight ahead as is the steering wheel. It's the 4x4 information screen that shows the wheels to be out to the right and not straight ahead causing the hdc fault.

If you have HDC fault too - 99% sure it would be the Steering Angle Sensor...photos in my previous post a couple of posts back!!!

Thanks again saintv8 after reading other posts online it's all pointing to the steering angle sensor :doh: I do have it booked into taggarts land rover this Friday for a full check so il know then
