Clean up the battery, ther should be max/min marks or suchlike!
Just fill each cell with de-ionised water and charge or refit battery to vehicle. Simples!
 
if you unscrew the caps, the water level should be sitting just above the plates, if you can see the tops of the plates then your level is low.

Do not empty and fill again, batteries should only ever be topped up, by removing the original water/acid solution you're nullifying the use of it, it'll never run the same.

In all honesty, if you top it up and it solves the issue, your in luck, if it doesn't, scrap it and get another.

By doing do this you will be making alot of work for yourself for nothing.

Topping up achieves the same result and is less messy and less expensive, handling battery acid, safe removal of it, cost of refilling the battery etc, you won't gain a 'new' battery by doing this.

The plates are where most batteries fail eventually, if they are failing, no matter what you use ( top up or replace fully ) you will still have the same issue.

As has been said, top it up, fully charge it and see how you go, if it still fails to crank and start her up, replace it.
 
See if you think it will make no difference then why waste time topping it up at all? Save your money intirely and buy a new batt. I have replaced the acid in a few batt and 99.9% of the time they do recover. I have always used batt acid thou not boiled water.
