Can you hear the starter solenoid click in and out when you turn the ignition?

Before fitting the new starter motor did you check it was working ?

Is the earth strap secure?

is there a starter solenoid that could be sticking? or a dodgy earth.
mine used to have similar syptoms that were sorted with alot of WD40
