its a 200 tdi 110.
slow turning this morning at but fired up got home had coffee then went to do school run just constant clicking from starter.
did same couple of weeks ago but left it 5mins and it started, did same this morning still clicking.
checked all batt terminals earths etc all tight still just clicking.
what do you reckon starter or batt?

thought if batt it would just turn slowly?

cheers

Sluggish starter is usually battery flagging ...

but as it's prolly the same age as yer starter anyways - give the starter a sharp tap on the top of the solenoid bit - it might be sticky ...

if it works you could do with a new / rebuilt /DIY kit fix it and some brushes - the cold weather shows up dodgy items ...

battery fully charged new starter fitted just clicking.
even put mains powered booster unit on when trying it still just clicking any more ideas?

Relay in the fuse box ?

i am having starter problems mine is kicking in but not enough to engage flywheel but its doing it intermittently fecking thing

didnt know there was a relay which one is it?
got all gold ones outside and couple of diff coloured ones at back of it

Narrow it down by ear. Then touch it and you will feel vibration.

Actually....when you say constant clicking, is it one click for each turn of the key or a rattle of clicks for as long as the key is turned?
If one then replace/hit or rebuild the starter or starter solenoid.
If rattle then there's a voltage drop
