Hi folks,
is there anyone local to Stafford/Newport area that is willing to assist with P38 (4 l. ) diagnostics please?
Titch

Alright titch, I'm between walsall and Wolverhampton with icarsoft lrv2 if its any good to ya
Hi There,
OK thanks.. yes, I'm just about 5 miles from A41 Newport.. do you think it would give us any clues and are you able/willing to travel to me.. RR is on the bump stops so no good to drive really.
If so, can we discuss.. PM or 'talk' like folk used to? Of course, don't expect this for nothing..
Regards,
Titch

Just had a quick search on the forum, icarsoft is a bit pants for p38 apparently. @Saint.V8 did a vid on it, not had chance to watch as I'm out atm

Think @Flossie is your ends but whether he's got diagnostics i don't know. He's got a p38 tho I'm sure

Nanocom much better for p38 by all accounts 👍🏻

+1 on Nanocom. Flossie is about to learn.

Best place to start is the Rangie Technical Section on here, starting with testing the compressor output. No diag needed for that.

I've had a long chat with titch and pointed him to warmers stuff in the tech section. Turns out that although I'm a p38 newbie as such, I do know more than I thought. He has some things to try out and I'm going up to his on Saturday to have a fiddle, nanocom in hand.
Good luck!

Well, what can I say.... except great big THANKS to Flossie...
We have working air suspension now!!
Without his meticulous intent of getting to the bottom of this, I simply wouldn't have got this far ..not only was his Nanocom a fascinating (over my head ) piece of equipment, Flossie's determination and process of elimination with methodical working out, made my day most interesting too!!
I learnt a hell of a lot and it's made my head spin still, I hope you were fed & watered OK Flossie and we must catch up very soon again.
So, thanks to everyone's input here but with respect too, mostly to Flossie for sensibly living closeish and his determined, methodical attitude too!!
Titch....

I've decided to go to a coil spring conversion........
Sorry all.. I just don't want reoccuring issues with EAS.. A few years ago I had a P38 diesel with springs and that was fine for me, so we'll go for it.. I have another P38 with a conversion on with the electric plug in overide to stop my dash playing Christmas lights too, so having started stripping that today... I am going to need some parts... I have the coils etc etc, but one of the aluminium 'perch plates' has got the pin 'rusted/oxidiesed in and can't get it out.. also two of the studs have snapped.. does anyone know where I can buy 'parts' of the conversion kit please.. so far only finding full sets???
