Hi, had to take the Drivers Air Bag off earlier....disconnected the positive terminal on the battery & left the car for an hour then took the air bag off...

Did what i had to do, put it all back 2gether & then connected up the battery....

BUT now the SRS LIGHT is staying on.....hooked up my D900 Scanner but it says there are no faults....have done a search but all i can find is when the SRS comes on suddenly ie seat belt tensioners not after the air bag removal.

Anything i can do or is it a trip to Land Rover for me.......:(:(

Thanks

hiya

the same happened to me when i put a new steering wheel on and found it occurred twice

first time the connector wasn't in correctly , the second time one of the small pins didn't quite go in and the plug didn't click in properly

i hated doing it as i felt the thing was going to go off, would have thought the code reader would have picked the fault up

plus after i sorted out the airbag it first took 15 mins for the srs light to go out, then after that returned to normal

hope u get it sorted out

Haven't they got a life span

gary

Hi, think i will take it off again 2moro & go thru the procedure again....will double check that the yellow cable is plugged in properly onto the airbag...

Must admit i **** myself doing it incase it goes off:eek::eek::eek:

did you by any chance take the steering wheel off because if you did and you did not make sure that the disk connecting wheel was in the right place then you could have broken it . I have just mended mine through doing that I for got to check and as soon as I turned the wheel CRACK! was the sound , luckily the ribbon connector came of at the point where it is soldered on, so just had to cut a tiny bit of and re solder but very tricky job. when you put the disk connector back on always make sure the warning bit which is white is showing.

Hi, no just had the airbag off....unhooked the battery yesterday/took it off again & left it for 2 hours.....reassembled but still on:(:(

why leave for 2 hours ,but that is not the problem it sounds as though some where it is not making contact ,them yellow plugs are not very good you have to make sure they are really pushed home

So....still no joy with the SRS light, have had the airbag off 2-3 times now double checking everything, yellow cable is plugged in nice & secure.....have had my D900 scanner hooked up but says there are no faults....have tried to look thru the instructions to see if the D900 will erase the SRS but cant see anything........

Any ideas.....cheers:confused::confused:

what about the plug that goes into the disk if that is not in properly then it will not be making contact it is possible you have just dislodged it

Hi, more inclined to think its connected (pardon the pun) with me removing the airbag on the steering wheel....but i will check anything/everything at this stage.....

Thanks

Hi, just been reminded by my daughter that i gave her a lift to work when i didnt have the airbag hooked up.......

So could this be the fault, possible registered on the ECU:confused:

You may have hit the nail on the head with the above statement :rolleyes:

Hi, def think that has been the problem.....1st time i had the airbag off i didnt have to go anywhere in the car & once i put it all 2gether SRS was fine ie went off as normal...

But this time i left it off, went for a quick run & hence the problem:mad:

I have a D900 Scanner & have had it hooked up a few times but it doesnt seem to register nor offer any solution to the SRS light being on.....

Have seen a few vids on You Tube on how to cure it but it involves sticking a paperclip into 2 seperate connectors & bridging them:eek::eek:

Not too sure about that.........

I have a d900 aswell.......about 1 in 5 connections it starts to connect and then fails....piece of crap, but kept it as works on my other cars.

Would it be easier/cheaper to fit another SRS AIRBAG MODULE as long as its fault code free????

Cheers

If the SRS Light is on & a fault is registered.......is it registered on the ECU or the seperate SRS MODULE.....or god forbid both:eek:

Cheers

There is a separate fault code list on the abs ecu. Not sure if the code is registered here and the engine ecu but I could put a fault on my v6 to see if it registers in both, if that helps.
