Hi,

DAM! I thought by doing the penny trick my squeaky aux belt would stop but it hasn't, I have also checked the bearing in the tensioner wheel and there's no slack in that.

Apart from the water pump which seems ok, can anyone think of anything else.

Oh and my local garage quoted £85 labour + parts to change the tensioner, it took 45 minutes to get it off, check the bearing and put it all back together again with a penny in place. That was with having no real idea what I was doing.

One last thing, for the 1st year of having this car no squeak, so I'm not sure if the penny is needed, but hey cheap mod.

Anyway, so what do you think,

Change the tensioner and keep the old one as a spare to see if that is any different.

Change the belt for a new one.

Run it till something goes snap  then I'll find out what's wrong.
