ive recently had my 300TDi serviced, new cam/fan belt etc however since having it done there is a horrible squealing sound (like the fan belt) but it isn't loose and is new. ive had a bearing changed and it still squeals, done 2000 miles with it like this hoping it'd wear out lol but no....any ideas???
also my shockers have gone (rear), good and proper, i bounce everywhere now. just ordering some new ones online...will it cause any other damage as i still need to use it?
thanks

Squealin cud be yer belt tensioner.. try sprayin a bit o 3 in 1 on it to see if you can identify where the squeal is. It'll be one o the components run by that serpentine belt am sure...! Had nowt but trouble wi mine!

No you will be OK, it puts a bit more bounce on the springs so take it easy over big bumps.

As said above a bit of talcum powder, or even a spray or water onto the belt surfaces (with the engine running) will soon let you hear if its the belt at fault or not as the noise will disappear.

A LOT of 300tdi's have this belt squeal - its an identity marker or sorts, its usually to do with the tensioner.

Now I know your into your oils and all hybrid, but go easy on the belt, if it was a belt slip issue oil can make it worse.

Aye I dint mek that very clear.. I dint mean spray it on the fookin belt... but down the back o the belt tensioner...!

Actually ..... a little oil on a slipping belt tends to stop it slipping .... sorry about that!
