Had a brake squealing issue for months now, finally put it in and got new pads, discs, and then calipers as they were seized.

Drove away and getting the same squealing, but also with a secondary, louder, squeal now!

Any ideas? End of my fkn tether.

Are the brake pads already chamfered? If they aren't give em a chamfer down the leading edge and then as already said, brush some copper grease around the edge and on the back of the pads.

Mintex pads?? u may have to get an anti-squeal shim kit for the pads they just clip on to the rear of the pad.

Not sure, came from ARE car parts but don't know more than that. Yeah going to a LR dealer tomorrow to check their proper pads & kits see what's contained.

I just had the same, checked pads today and found that when I changed them last week at 11pm I had managed to put one pad in the wrong way round. Metal on Metal. Doh!

Well it's been sorted, finally!

Had front and rear pattern part pads. Both sets squealed, getting worse as they got hotter.

Changed to LR pads, front, and the squeal only came from the rear, so changed those over too. Both LR pads had the anti-squeal plates, and the others didn't, so was down to the parts.

Getting money back on the pattern pads.

The annoying thing is the proper ones were only £4 more expensive :D

The last time I looked genuine LR part front pads were £48 from a dealer so I went and fitted EBC at £22 and they are just as good if not better as the do grab, must now wait and see how long they last..
