Hi guys,

so when my car is cold, 1st use of the day mostly, it make a squealing noise when i increase the revs. This noise happens slightly when i rev in neautral but increases when in drive but worse when in reverse. At first i thought it was the Aux/Serp belt but not so sure. The noise disappears after running for a minute or two. There doesn't appear to be any loss in performance and not overheating etc.

What else apart from the Aux/serp belt could it be? Maybe transmission?

Help please! Getting sad about the Rangey! Been problem after problem! And cannot afford to stick it into the garage as they are £85ph! :O

Cheers

Chris

get some white grease and spray the serpentine belt while it is making the noise if it shuts up its the belt

i'll need to find someone to rev it whilst i'm spraying the grease. I've tried some wd40 on the belt. But it's just that i noticed the other day that noise gets worse when i'm in drive or reverse when i accelerate from 0. When i'm at a constant speed it doesnt squeal and it stops after the cars warmed up in like a couple minutes. It's worst on a cold wet morning and the noise is embarrassing as the fancy pants range rover sounds like something from lord of the rings!
