Right now that things are calming down and i'm sorted out. I thought I,d pay the defender a bit more attention.....mostly as its leaving oil everywhere the past few days..

Firstly I knew the rear crank oil seal was dribbling but after driving distances (30 odd mile) its seems to be dribbling/leaking a lot more. Question is how much is yours leaking?..I understand oil viscosity and how it changes with temperature/pressure but mine seems random as to how much it losses. I,m thinking about replacing my gearbox anyhow if I keep the defender so I,d sort it then.

But there is more:mad: Around the fuel lift pump and vacuum pump is wet and ontop of the axle diff housing it collects in a nice wee puddle:(...got a spare lift pump and i'llchange is sunday and see if it calms it down.

Why the hell has it started now need ma money for other issues wea ma life....and the housing estate warden aint going to be happy wea ma oil stained pavement:D.....rambling over!
 
Changed the rear diff oil seal last month and that has cured the oil leak there. Even the engine was staying relatively oil tight. But changed the oil last week and now the oil is leaking somewhere above the oil filter housing and dripping on the axle casing like yours.

Oh and the passenger lock barrel came out with the key yesterday. Something else to fix!
 
kes ma cheap after market rear door decided to bend the runner channel out of shape, so now opens the whole way..... great I,m scared to do anything cause what ever I repair something will come back and bite me wea vengeance !:mad:
