Hi guys

I ordered a full set of BP springs the other day which arrived on Saturday from paddocks as although the new Terrafirma ones are great on the road they are too stiff for off road, my fault wrong choice of spec ( TF204's ) so before fitting these new springs i am going to paint them green to mach my 90 rather than have them yellow, i also ordered new turret rings and std hight tubular turrets aswell as i couldn't afford them before :)

I take it you went for the heavy duty ones? I would be interested to hear how they work out. I still have the original springs on mine which are now 25 years old, they seem OK although a bit rusty looking. I was thinking about changing them but don't know whether to stick with standard springs. Everyone seem to go for heavy duty, I can't work out why. I don't often carry heavy loads. I did a trip across Morocco last year, with a heavy load and it coped fine. A friend of mine had a 90 with rock hard springs, very uncomfortable.

i've just junked my BP supergaz +2 HD kit in favour of new take off supplied by urban truck. what a difference, they are night and day better both on and off road. Land rovers travel across africa on standard suspension, thats good enough for me lol

Yeah the thing is i fitted rear Terrafirma relocation cones with the Terrafirma spring kit and they have never come out of the seats to allow the cones to work meaning instead of have hardly any articulation one of the rear wheels always left the ground which was good in one way as you always had great ground clearances from the chassis and gearbox but is probably quite dangerous aswell so hopefully i will have better articulation now with these :)

Suspension basics. Well worth reading up on the why and the how. Then you won't waste money on poor choices and bad setups. :)

Mikescuba,I don't know why people go for HD springs either, only time you would want to is if fitting heavy engine or crane/cherry picker
I recommend standard springs with gas shocks. You WILL notice the difference with your 25 year ones.

+1 Agree completely.
IIRC it was pointed out to him before he got them.
