After a day of pulling people out of ditches and up hills my disco started sounding abit sick, theres a painful sound when turning left or right sounds like an air horn.

Steering is no longer smooth and feels heavy then suddenly light, got home and looked under the bonnet to find power steering fluid spraying out of the resevior cap and fluid all over the engine bay, fluid was very foamy aswell.

Noticed the pulley on what I think was the PS pump was looking rather all over the place.

This sound like the pump has failed?

Just been out to have another look and the fluid is brown and theres lots of metallic filings

Thanks mate, managed to run round and find a new pump and PS fluid to have a bash at it tomorrow

Easy job to do.did mine with broken leg and few swear words.but easy enuf.if you can take fan off gives bit more room.
