its not that weird. if yer cooling system is old and shot to hell, then the weakest part will leak, you patch that up and the next weakest part goes . and so it continues untill you have changed the whole lot.

I reckon thats spot on slob, my radiator is on it's last legs so I'm just patching it up but as the disco's a bit old various parts are probably getting due for a replacement - including a core plug.
Right now though coolant loss is minimal and she seams to be running really well. So going to get a radiator of evil bay and pop it in, see how it goes.
There's still a slight drip from the core plug but there's no coolant in my oil which was a worry at first, thought it may be more than the plug.
I have to say though I've used decent disel recently and she's running IMO really well.
