hello people, are you ready for this one??? i have a 97 300 tdi disco. i bought it with no engine etc, but managed to find a classic which had been converted with a 96 tdi engine and box, done the conversion and it's sweet, but my speedo wont work... i have bought a brand new electronic speedo drive and tested the wiring but it still won't work, i have plugged it in and spun it manually, that works, so can it only be the mechanical drive in the box??

that's my first question, secondly, are there lots of drives to choose from? thirdly, are they easy enough to change??

regards, Terry.

p.s, io also need a few plastic bits for the front of mine if any one is local to me and has one breaking...

1) The drive is different depending on it's colour.

2) although there are some clever people on here, there aren't many telepathics. To help the non telepathics, why not add your location by clicking 'usercp' and then editing your profile.;)

thought it was on there..... near dudley, west midlands......

whats involved in changing the speedo... please don't say it's box out etc...
