You gotta set of jump leads? Earth the block to the body - where it is sparking to cus that is where it is finding an earth. Does it run sweet then? Still got my money on earthing problems............
 
I reckon you can forget the coil - you got HT if you got that big a spark. Consequently your LT is ok too. Try the earthing the block with a jump lead n see wot happens. Lectricity will always take the easiest route home - not nececelery where you would think it should go. Start with basics and work up..........

what you mean screw the alternator on a dosil you dnt need it to run not like a petrol wich needs that but remember you cant run it 4 long like that cus u will have 2 disconnect the fan belt n all so the water pump wont be working i think im right there
 
I just meant unplug the alternator - just that u gotta be careful cus u can fry alternators. Could end up deeper in the mire than he already is. Anyway he's not responding again so maybe he got it fixed? Or gave up? Reckon I could have that fixed in 10 minutes............
 
remove the HT lead from the coil and try cranking the engine. I know it won't start but does the dipstick still spark? I rekon it won't.
