Planning to change the spark plug of KV6. Opened the front one and found out the spark plugs are deep inside. What sort of spark plug socket do I need?

i have never tried it - so cant help ya - but i heard rumours that the rear bank are real bastards.

me neither, but if it's any thing like changin' the glowplugs on a 99 xdi, then it's a pain in the butt!!!

Wouldn't you get away with using a deep socket? If you think it'll work, try using one of the new spark plugs as a guide to size

I hope it would but i really doubt it. when I pulled the lead, its about 10cm inside.

Just found me Haynes manual, it covers upto 2002. does that fit yours?

mine is 2001 KV6

It says summit about usin' a spark plug spanner, suitable box spanner or a deep socket and extension bar. Hope that helps

Does it say how long is the deep socket needed? Because if its too long, dont think it will fit as the space is really tight.

Can't see anything, but I presume they're pretty much all the same. Had a look in the tools section and it doesn't say.

its easy just use a spark plug socket with a extension took me 15 Min's to change the lot

I've heard of it being done on a KV6 using an extension on the spark plug socket and with no need to remove the manifold. Never done it myself though...
