LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER Mk II (LP) Spark Plug - BOSCH 0 242 230 509 | eBay

Guys, when we changed the plugs on the standard 4.6 engine 2000 RR, it had the above narrow pointed tipped plugs.....the ones we put in NGKs which were standard cylindrical tips.....ok to do so.....why the difference?

P

Different design of plug. There are dozens of different styles and designs each one claiming to be superior to each other. As long as the plugs you fit are a suitable heat range for your engine they should be fine.

As long as the plugs are of the correct temperature range, no problem.
Fancy expensive Platinum plugs are supposed to last for 30,000 miles or something like that. I use good old cheap Britpart plugs and change them once a year without issue.
I wouldn't like to leave plugs in for an extended period in case they sieze in the head.
The one's in the Ebay link are specified for the 3.9 apparently.
