Right,

Had an issue with compressor so gave in and replaced it, now it won't run.

The compressor would run using Easunlock and bring the suspension up, Checked both the thermal cutout and the pressure switch, both of which are working correctly.

Whilst tinkering yesterday everything suddenly started working exactly as it should, only thing i could think it may have been was i noticed that the garage had put the washers that hold the compressor in upside down causing it to vibrate like hell. Loose connection somewhere?

This morning however its not running again

The only other post i could find with the same issue had a loose connection and his problem was solved by replacing the compressor, but thats when mine started.

Compressor was bought from Land Rover so I'm working on the assumption that the compressor itself is fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Buy some Servisol electricleaner and give all the connectors in the box a good clean. Passenger footwell and clean all the plugs in there. Try unplugging the EAS ecu which is under the passenger seat and clean that aswell.

If that is the case loose connection will be in compressor but with a new compressor it is unlikely. But stranger things have happened. All you can do to isolate compressor as duff, is check compressor relay and continuity to thermal switch and that power is getting to green wire on compressor. If there is continuity from orange wire to black wire and power to green wire it would suggest comprssor has a problem. Under no circumstances connect power to orange wire you will blow thermal switch instantly.

When I was tinkering yesterday I checked the continuity to the thermal switch and also checked relay 20 and fuse 40. Only thing i didn't check was the green wire, but if it runs via Eas unlock would this not suggest that the power feed is fine?

Yes it would. But if it always runs via EASunlock but won't run of it's own accord something is not right somewhere. The EASunlock will run compressor whether pressure is up or not so would seem to cutout thermal and pressure sensors and run compressor direct. The ECU may not be pulling in the relay. That is fed if i remember rightly from pin 8 on ECU. Thermal switch and pressure switch turn power to this pin on and off as required. Have you checked and clean the multi plug that connects the compressor. And the one that connects valve block/driver pack to ECU. Check that there is indeed power to green wire when compressor is supposed to be running if not you may have an ECU problem or a bad connection in multiplugs. If it started whilst you were playing a bad connection broken wire sounds favorite.

PS Continuity black wire to orange wire MUST be done with compressor disconnected from loom. If you spike them with compressor connected you will always get continuity because black and orange both go to ground, black to earth point orange through ECU.

Ok, will give everything a good clean later on this eve and check the green wire to be certain. Thanks

I've now cleaned the three connectors under the bonnet, haven't done the ecu end yet. Double checked the green wire and I have no voltage when its supposed to be running

So were looking at ecu or bad connection somewhere??

oh the joy
