The label on box is rather 'foxed' - I has had them in the back shed for 12 years[/quote
If you are lucky there will be a tag fixed to the chains with tyre size on it.
Also with chains on the steering axle they will shake the **** out things, elbow, wrists, the vibration sent to the steering wheel is terrible, top speed is like 35mphOld git experience here

in that case - yu is "foxed" too

I've used chains loads.
Practice putting them on and make sure they fit properly or you'll destroy your wheelarches and suspension. imagine what damage a chain can do flailing around.
have a groundsheet, torch & gloves & hi-vis, you will get rotten. it's always cold, dark, wet, dirty & miserable when you need to put them on.
Don't exceed 30 mph.
If they're 12 years old, you'll need to stop after 1/2 mile or so of driving and re-tension them probably.
Always on the driven wheels, but better still all 4 wheels.
Carry a hammer and spare links in case the chains break.
Don't drive too far on clear roads, you'll destroy the chains.
avoid rapid acceleration and heavy braking, you'll brake the chains.
Better to buy winter tyres, you'll probably never have to use the chains, even though it's still a legal requirement to carry them in some countries in mountainous regions.
you're the bloke who fitted the chains to the fronts on his 2 wheel drive BMW i bet
Do tell?
figured it out yet ?
Every beemer I have come across is rear wheel drive, why would you want too stick em on the front?![]()
