You need to think about why you want one. If its just for looks, get something cheap and modify the upper tube to fit, just ending it against the wing so it looks realistic - no point at all in cutting the wing and running it through the engine bay. Lets be realistic here, if you are in water even nearly deep enough to require a snorkel, you will very probably kill the electronics and ruin the car.
Landrover state the max wading depth to be about 40cm, which is similar to what my Peugeot 306 cabriolet could cope with :pound:
 
Not designed for wading dude - its a road car. You needs a Def or Landcruiser.

I already have a disco bobtail
This is a freelander on a disco chassis with a 200 tdi engine currently on 33" but trying to see if 37" will fit

have you see the prices for those snorkels... chuff me!!!!

i wanted one for my l200 so bought one off a landcruiser for £60 (new price!) and used a hot air gun to tweak it into the right shape.

waded through much deeper with mine and not drown it :)

thing is all the electrics are higher up than a 306 and deffo higher than the merc I passed in the floodwater :D
