hey ya. I wanted to see how airtight the air intake was before I fixed my snorkel. I placed a carrier bag over the air intake on my defender 90 200tdi and the engine coughed, but does not cut out while in idle. But, its strugling. What does this mean, does this imply I have a hole in my air vent, or something as I want to insure a tight water proof snorkel/airvent setup.

If it's still running it's gotta be getting air from somewhere, so something's not sealed properly.

mmmm any ideas how to locate problem areas? everything is really enclosed.

Update: as you take the vent cover off, you can see a few mm gap around the edge (near the top only) of where the wing is and the air vent structure (cant see daylight tho). Is this likely to affect intrigerity of the sealed unit?
