Im going to do this, but need the aid of an old flange (ooo err) to help guide the bit in centrally. Its almost impossible to get it straight otherwise.

just drill a hole and nut and bolt it. doesn't really matter if it's slightly off centre. will still do a job.

well Its right through with a 3.5, half through with a 5mm but only 1/4 through with a 6mm as I could start to see the outer threads on the axle case.

If I can make a fresh start and drill straight through with a 7 or 8mm I could tap the old **** out and re-tap the thread.

I dont want to rely on the bolt method as it is tight around the rear of the axle case, not sure an M8 bolt would go on very easily.

Nylock nut and then make a cupped holder out of an old spanner ?

Use a bolt so you can screw it on then chop bolt head off and use a nut on that side too once tight ?

I have an old swivel here but tis miles away will see if the niece needs lift home from uni bath this weekend if she does ill happily throw it in and deliver at the weekend
