Hey,

After a short drive i noticed quite a lot of smoke coming from the hose outlet under the front bumper and a whining noise for approx 30 seconds after turning the engine off, coming from around the nearside front wheel.

Im guessing this is the fuel heater making the noise and the excess smoke is dampness!!

Any ideas.

Cheers

Oh and it seems down on power, as if the turbo is not working. Could this be linked or 2 different issues.

Thanks again.

I'm surprised the FBH is running at this time of year. Smoking normally means it's not burning correctly.

cheers. I take it that wont make any difference to the way it runs.

Any idea re the lack of power!!!

Thanks again

Lack of power issues generally means a drive while monitoring the data from important sensors like the rail pressure sensor and the MAP sensor. This will help determine what's not working as it should.
How's the maintenance on it?

Not much maintenance at all. Perhaps im being a bit picky.

If maintenance is lacking, then that's likely the problem. There are several areas on the this engine that affect performance, if they aren't maintained correct.

Have you checked the vacuum pipe that runs across the back of the engine, it tends to get crispy & perish, mines been sorted with a length of brake pipe to prevent further issues.
