While trawling the posts a few weeks ago looking for info on changing 'P' gasket (job done). I sort of got side tracked reading about lack of power and then on to turbo,s. Most were saying that your Turbo's were kicking in about 1700rpm. I know that Disco,s aren't racing cars but my turbo seems to lazily come into life about 2000rpm. I have checked hoses, connections and pipes and all look good. While accelerating I can here the turbo whistle, is this a sign a shot turbo or leaking joints any thoughts please.

Sounds normal to me, you can hear the whistle from the car in front on mine. Bigger intercooler. But standard I still had a whistle.

Whistling is normal, it's the clattering and banging you need to worry about!
