Hi all,

am finding that the gearbox in my rangie needs a service....

its slow to change and unless warmed up for ages doesn't want to really move off the line!

am i doing a filter and oil change tomorrow....so was just wandering how much oil?

book says 9.7 ltrs...but others on here have said they onyl used 4/5?

its a 1999 hse diesel....

will i need a hole 10ltrs?

You will get around 5 litres out. Put 4.5 back then run through gears and top up. If you are having problems best to do a couple of changes maybe a week or so apart.

And if you are still having trouble try Lucas Transmission Fix:)

Is it worth sticking Lucas transmission fix into the gearbox anyway? Mine seems a bit sluggish in a morning but then its fine for the rest of the day after first 10secs.

Don't use Lucas unless you need to. They are always sluggish when cold and that's not just P38's.
